Former NANS President Sunday Asefon Secures National Appointment, NANS Southwest Describes Recognition as Well Deserved

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has congratulated former National President of the Association and Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Students Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, following his appointment as the National Director of Student Engagement and Mobilization of the City Boy Movement.

The appointment was formally acknowledged after Comrade Asefon presented his appointment letter to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening youth participation in governance and expanding opportunities for student engagement across the country.

Reacting to the development, NANS Southwest Zone D described the appointment as another landmark achievement for the Nigerian student movement, noting that it reflects the growing confidence in leaders who have emerged from student activism to occupy strategic positions in national development.

In a statement made available to The Informant, the Coordinator of NANS Southwest Zone D, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), said Comrade Asefon has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment and dedication to the welfare of Nigerian students both during and after his tenure as National President of NANS.

The Zone noted that Asefon's appointment goes beyond personal recognition, describing it as a positive development for Nigerian youths whose voices require stronger representation in governance and public policy.

NANS Southwest further expressed confidence that the former student leader would utilise his wealth of experience to promote meaningful youth engagement, encourage political participation among young Nigerians and strengthen collaboration between government institutions and student bodies.

The Association wished him a successful tenure and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education, youth empowerment and national development.
