NANS Southwest Congratulates Babatunde Akinteye, Newly Inaugurated National Executive Council

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has congratulated Comrade Babatunde Akinteye on his inauguration as the National President of the association.

In a statement signed by the Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), the association described the inauguration as the beginning of a new chapter in the history of NANS, expressing confidence that the administration would provide visionary leadership, strengthen advocacy, and champion the interests of Nigerian students.

The association also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated National Executive Council (NEC), urging them to uphold the principles of accountability, integrity, transparency, and selfless service throughout their tenure while remaining committed to the welfare of students across the country.

NANS Southwest further celebrated the emergence of three representatives from the Southwest Zone—the National President, the Secretary-General, and the Financial Secretary—as key officers in the national leadership, describing the development as a reaffirmation of the zone's longstanding tradition of producing capable and visionary leaders for the Nigerian student movement.

According to the association, the emergence of the Southwest in these strategic positions reflects the confidence reposed in the region's leadership capacity and places a greater responsibility on its representatives to deliver purposeful, inclusive, and impactful leadership.

The association pledged its continued support and cooperation with the new administration, assuring the leadership of its commitment to working collectively in advancing the objectives of NANS and promoting unity within the student movement.

NANS Southwest expressed optimism that the new leadership would prioritise students' welfare, educational development, institutional reforms, youth empowerment, and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders to address the challenges facing Nigerian students.

The association concluded by wishing Comrade Babatunde Akinteye and the entire National Executive Council a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that their leadership would contribute meaningfully to national development and the continued progress of the Nigerian student movement.
