The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has placed its proposed protest over the suspension of five students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, on hold.

The decision follows ongoing discussions between the student body and the university management over the disciplinary measures imposed on the affected students.

In a statement issued by Zone D Coordinator, Comr. Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, NANS Southwest said LAUTECH management had assured the organization that the matter would be presented before the University’s Senate for review and consideration.

The student body noted that it still considers the suspension excessive but stated that dialogue should be given an opportunity to achieve a fair resolution.

As a result, NANS Southwest called on student leaders, comrades, stakeholders, and members of the university community to remain peaceful and await the outcome of the university’s internal review process.

The organization said it would continue to monitor developments and reserved the right to take further action if necessary.

The suspended students’ case has attracted attention from student leaders and stakeholders, with calls for a resolution that balances institutional discipline with students’ welfare and academic future.
