The Nigeria Next Generation Network (NNGN) has announced plans to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day with a virtual dialogue on democratic participation and the inauguration of newly elected leaders within the organization.

According to a statement released by the group, the event, themed “Democracy, Duty and the Next Generation,” is scheduled to hold on Friday, June 12, 2026, via Google Meet.

The programme will feature the official swearing-in of NNGN officials, whom the organization described as young leaders committed to advancing youth participation in governance and nation-building.

Speaking on the significance of the event, NNGN said the programme is designed to reflect on the ideals of June 12 and encourage young Nigerians to embrace active citizenship and democratic responsibility.

The dialogue session will bring together legal practitioners, political analysts, and youth leaders to discuss the role of young people in sustaining democracy and strengthening governance in Nigeria.

The National President of NNGN, Hon. Amb. Abdulsobur Adegoke, is expected to host the programme alongside the National Vice President, Hon. Amb. Isah Fatimah Umar.

Also scheduled to participate are legal practitioner Oluwafemi Balogun, Esq., who will administer the oath of office, political analyst Hon. Umar Salaman Adeyemi, and former Students’ Union Government President, Comrade Ibrahim Okunade.

NNGN said the event forms part of its broader efforts to promote civic engagement, leadership development, and democratic consciousness among young Nigerians.

The organization called on youths across the country to participate in the programme and contribute to conversations on the future of democracy and governance in Nigeria.
