A delegation of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), Osun State Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Osun State Police Command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, to discuss issues relating to youth development, peace, and civic responsibility.

The delegation, led by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ogbeni Sasona Mayowa Ayomide, visited the police spokesperson in Osogbo on June 9, 2026.

During the meeting, DSP Ojelabi emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and public order, urging youth-led organizations to play active roles in promoting stability within society.

According to the PPRO, youth groups must remain focused on constructive engagement and avoid being drawn into activities capable of creating division or unrest. He also encouraged members of the assembly to uphold values of discipline, integrity, and responsible leadership.

DSP Ojelabi further reaffirmed the Osun State Police Command’s willingness to maintain collaboration with youth organizations, noting that partnership between security institutions and young people is essential for sustainable development.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Speaker Sasona expressed appreciation for the reception accorded the assembly and commended the police spokesperson for his guidance and support.

He reiterated NYAN’s commitment to mobilizing young people towards peacebuilding, unity, and community development across Osun State.

The visit forms part of NYAN’s ongoing engagements with government institutions and stakeholders aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance, security awareness, and social development.
