NYAN Osun Meets Youth Commissioner, Pushes for Unity and Inclusive Youth Development

The Osun State Chapter of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN) has held a strategic meeting with the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration on youth development and governance in the state.
The delegation, led by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sasona Mayowa Ayomide, paid a courtesy visit to the commissioner in Osogbo on Monday.
According to NYAN, the visit was aimed at commending the Ministry of Youth Affairs for its youth-focused initiatives and exploring areas of partnership toward advancing opportunities for young people across Osun State.
During the meeting, the commissioner reiterated his commitment to peace, unity, and inclusive youth development, stressing the need for harmony among youth groups in the state.
“I am a man of peace, and my primary desire is to see every youth in this state operate in absolute accordance and oneness,” Olagunju was quoted as saying.
The commissioner also pledged to engage relevant stakeholders in addressing existing misunderstandings and factional tendencies within the youth constituency. He urged members of the assembly to maintain integrity and avoid being used for political purposes, encouraging them instead to contribute meaningfully to societal development.
He further called on the youth body to support the development agenda of the administration of Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, Speaker Sasona expressed appreciation for the reception accorded the assembly and reaffirmed NYAN’s readiness to work with the ministry and the state government on initiatives aimed at promoting youth development and sustainable progress.
The meeting forms part of ongoing engagements between youth organizations and government institutions focused on strengthening youth participation in governance and development across the state.
